The SBT number represents how much noise is stopped by something. The higher the number the better: the scale is logarithmic, meaning each number is significantly higher than the next, like the Richter Scale for earthquake measurement.

Cover switch and receptacle boxes with foam gaskets to prevent air leaks. Otherwise, seal around the box perimeter with acoustic sealant or caulk and seal around the knockout where the cables enter the box.
